Teguise is a Canarian municipality in the north-central and the eastern portion of the island of Lanzarote in the Las Palmas province in the Canary Islands The population is 14,214 (ISTAC, 2003), its density is 53.84/km² and the area is 263.98 km². The town population is around 3,000. The population doubling time is about 20 years and the growth between 2001 and 2003 was at 10.14% It is located north of Arrecife on a main highway of LZ1 and south of Haíra.
